I step up to the podium, clear my throat, and say, "Hello. My name is Matt, and I'm lazy." I feel much better when a few billion people respond, "Hello, Matt."
How lazy am I? Maybe not quite as I think I am. I've done some fun and exciting things in my life, some of which were long term. One thing that I've failed at is learning Japanese. I've spent hundreds of dollars on books, a few animes, and other language learning material. I also spent a few hundred on a course last year, which got me nowhere. Well, now I'm going for broke. I'm joining the SilverSpoon program.
This is a fairly costly program, but on par with what I've spent so far on learning Japanese. And it'll be my final attempt. If I fail at this, which I don't intend to do, that I'll stop trying to learn it and move on. There are a lot of things I want to learn, and only a lifetime in which to learn them.
Anyway, sign-up is tomorrow. 595 days after that, I'll have fluency (as defined in the link above) or my money back. I'd rather have the fluency.
To hear someone else talk about the program, see here and here.
