Learning Japanese, Seven Weeks In

Another quick week with a lot more kanji.  I'm finding that I enjoy learning and writing the new kanji, reviewing older kanji, but not so much adding the new ones to the system so that they can become old ones.  I know that this is a very important step in remembering them, but it's kinda boring and takes more time than anything else.

As for listening, I finished season 1 of Stargate SG-1 last weekend and started West Wing, season 1.  I'm trying to find more TV shows from Japan that I like, since I want to be a bit more advanced before I go there, but they tend to get a bit expensive.

Not much else to report for this week.  I'm still trying one or two new Japanese foods each week, this week being chicken gyoza (chicken dumplings, really), but don't see any new sweets I want to try.  I'm not sure what half of the stuff in the grocery store is, let alone how to cook it.  The Japanese cookbooks I've seen all seem to make more advanced meals.

Can't wait to see where the next week takes us.
