TEFL Certification, Unit 1

I signed up for my TEFL certification course yesterday and received the first unit of work this morning.  I won't go into any details about the course itself, other than what's on the website, but I will discuss my thoughts about it until I have completed it.

Course:  140 Hours, Online, DVD Set, Tutor Support, Free Additional Course

It's starting off very easy.  We're 'learning' about what makes a great teacher and the differences between students.  While I know a bit about this already, they have a slightly different perspective and are making me think about it in a different way.

The DVDs are on their way here; I should get them early next week.  I'll have unit 1 complete by then, as it's designed to be shorter than the others.  I'm working toward having this complete by the end of November so I can do the extra course in December and start applying for jobs with the new year.  This takes precedence over my learning Japanese, as Japanese isn't required to get a job teaching English.

At the end of the course, I'll give an objective evaluation of it overall.
