Two Year Japanese Challenge v1.1

I posted a link to this blog, specifically to the previous post, on the WaniKani forums, and I am very glad I did so.  My fellow Japanese learners gave me some great tips to make the Challenge far more effective, if more challenging.

To summarize, the plan will change to:

Include Lang-8 entries, even tiny ones, far earlier.
Start reading and translation practice far earlier.
Start IMABI earlier and get through the beginning stages as soon as possible.  Make sure to check relevant English grammar at the same time.
Add Skype calls to the plan.

As you'll see in the updated plan below, I'm incorporating all these suggestions, except for the last one.  I'm unsure how to formalize Skype call (excellent speaking practice) into the plan, nor when to do so.  If I try speaking to natives too early, I'll just annoy them with gibberish.  If I start too late, I'll lose a lot of great time to practice.I'll be adding this to a future edition of the plan, but still wanted to mention it here.

That said, here is version 1.1 of the Two Year Japanese Challenge, with changes italicized:

  1. that's quite a hard challenge. I've been trying to practice japanese by skype at http://preply.com/en/japanese-by-skype and I don't think I can finish if I do a challenge like that. Good luck!
